Dmitry Nesterov – Honens
110 Pianists from around the world auditioned for the inaugural Honens International Piano Competition in 1992. Five pianists, including Dmitry Nesterov, were named Laureates for the Competition.
Dmitry was born and raised in Russia but he travelled all the way to Canada to compete. After the competition, the political and economic turmoil back home in Russia made him nervous but the competition enabled him and his wife Olga to stay in Canada and build a life here in Calgary, Alberta.
